Much of what we find out about Sherban comes from his sister’s account. Doris Lessing won the Nobel Prize for Literature in It forced me, at least, to remind myself that all predictions of a worldwide cataclysm have so far turned out to be false.

The first hundre I’ve read some critics’s reviews of Shikasta which suggest that the book is different from most science fiction in that it has well developed characters and a deeply meaningful plot.
